"I feel I ought to write a great novel, be friendly with more of the interesting people in my community, give more parties, dedicate more time to my intellectual pursuits, go hiking more often, travel to Africa, be a radical trying to revolutionize society, do more reading, sunning and swimming, become a teacher, be a faithful friend, be more generous with my money, be an athlete, live like Thoreau, learn another language and . . .
And do all of these things seriously, playfully, dramatically, stoically, joyfully, serenely, morally, indifferently"
- From the Dice Man by Luke Rhinehart
